My name is Maggie Curran. I am a Traumatologist, EMDR Therapist, Counsellor, clinical and academic Supervisor and Tutor of counselling and supervision I am also hold a certificate in Adoption Counselling.

I am experienced  as a Critical Incident Facilitator.

I have completed a Level 7 Diploma in Complex Trauma and PTSD. This allows me to work with clients who may be suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) following a life event such as a rape, car accident, burglary or mugging etc. or clients who may suffer from a more Complex trauma following childhood abuse, domestic violence, witnessing others being harmed or killed etc. If you have never been diagnosed with this conditions but have suffered any of the above I can help you with an assessment.

I offer EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-processing. EMDR is linked to the same processing that occurs during in REM sleep. I can provide you with more information if you are interested in this model of therapy.

I can offer a multi-disciplinary approach to counselling which includes Person-Centred approach, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution focused work. Specialising in Anxiety, Depression, Addiction, Relationship issues and many others. I can also offer pure CBT work.

I offer individual sessions, which can be open ended or for an agreed amount of time. Couples Therapy is also available.

My practice covers Heathrow, Uxbridge, West Drayton, Hayes, Slough and Windsor. My clients experience a safe, non-judgmental environment, which allows them to discuss issues in confidence. Currently I am working on-line so I can work with you regardless of your location.

The quality of the relationship I have with each client is of paramount importance to me, because without a relationship, therapy simply will not work. Drawing on both my professional and life experience I aim to empower my clients to find their own solutions.

I am a  Accredited member of NCS.

So… What can you expect from a counselling session? A counselling session normally last for 50 minutes. I will explain something that is called a “contract” to you at the start of your first session. This is not a legal contract but rather a contract of how you and I will work together so it will include days and times you have agreed to meet, perhaps how many session you may need. It will include something called confidentiality, here I  will explain that what you discuss is confidential between us but that that there are some exceptions to this, but it will always be explained to you. I  may ask to complete an assessment form which will capture information about you, again this will be explained but it is to help to me to work in your best interest by knowing certain information. During your session you can discuss anything that you feel is bothering you or upsetting you. You can do this in the knowledge that I am to trained to provide the space to help you discuss problems and feelings. As your counsellor, I  will support you and respect your views. I will help you develop insights and understanding of your problems

What would be the cost? My cost start at £60.00 for an individual client and £75.00 for couples. Trauma therapy involves many more assessments and the cost is £90.00 per session. The session last 50 minutes.

I have 2 session a week that I hold for those clients who are in receipt of benefits or are in low paid work so counselling is accessible to everyone.
